Bears Seek Ways 'To Keep Moving Forward' After Loss

Sep 25, 2023 12:35 AM

A turbulent week filled with off-field distractions for the Chicago Bears culminated in one of the most lopsided losses in recent franchise history.

The Bears suffered a 41-10 defeat against the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs to extend their losing streak to 13, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.

"We just got our ass kicked," Bears tight end Cole Kmet said. "That's probably number one. I can't think of a game I've had in a long time that looked like that."

Patrick Mahomes Fastest To Reach 25,000 Passing Yards

Sep 25, 2023 12:23 AM

Patrick Mahomes became the fastest NFL quarterback to reach 25,000 career passing yards, and he got there on Sunday in a fitting manner.

The Chiefs signal-caller went over the milestone on one of his longest passes of the day, a 37-yard throw to Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the third quarter of Kansas City's 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.

Dolphins Score 70 Points In Record Day

Sep 25, 2023 12:16 AM

Dolphins running back De'Von Achane had a few text messages to answer after Sunday's 70-20 win over the Denver Broncos. Actually, it was closer to 100, the rookie clarified.

In the first prominent role of his career, the third-round pick compiled 233 total yards and four touchdowns, including 203 rushing yards on 18 carries.

In one of the most lopsided games in NFL history, the Dolphins put up 726 yards as the league's best offense went berserk in its home opener. The point total marked a new franchise record and the most points any NFL team has scored since Washington scored 72 against the New York Giants in 1966.

Joe Burrow Aggravates Calf Injury As Bengals Drop To 0-2

Sep 18, 2023 9:03 AM

Joe Burrow aggravated his strained right calf during Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback was seen limping and treating the calf on the sideline late in the team's 27-24 loss as they fell to 0-2 for the second straight season.

Burrow and Zac Taylor both said he would have gone back into the game had the Bengals received the ball one more time.

"I'm not sure how it's going to feel the next couple days," Burrow said. "It's pretty sore right now. No telling how it's going to feel. So, I think we're going to take it day by day."

Burrow said he "tweaked it a little bit" on the team's final offensive drive of the game.

He missed nearly six weeks in the preseason with the strained right calf he suffered in the second practice of training camp.

49ers' Nick Bosa: 'Purdy Shut Some Haters Up (Today)'

Sep 10, 2023 8:38 PM

Exactly six months ago, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy underwent surgery on the torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. The Niners and Purdy entered that day uncertain about when the former "Mr. Irrelevant" would return to football and, when he did, how he would fare.

On Sunday at Acrisure Stadium, Purdy offered answers to both questions in San Francisco's resounding 30-7 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Purdy shut some haters up [today]," defensive end Nick Bosa said. "I think whenever a guy comes back from an injury, people kind of don't expect him to make another leap in the second year, I'm just happy for him. He's exactly who we thought he was."
